I've just returned from my tiny school talent show (just watching - I'm not that brave!) which was certainly entertaining in more ways than one. We have two medical students teaching a few classes and at the last minutes, one announced he had a song to sing. So he sung, acapella, a song about "letting me love you" it wasn't bad but I kinda wondered - when you've left high school, why would you ever want to face the possibility of humiliation in front of a bunch of teenagers. And then I glanced across the aisle at the two young English teachers, one of which was bent forward over her lap so that her hair shielded her face. She'd taken off her glasses and was discreetly dabbing her eyes in the dark. And I couldn't help but think... there's a story in that.
